Dr Logan opened the Hawkes Bay Eye Centre in 2009 to offer Laser Vision Correction, Cornea and Anterior Segment surgery to the regions of Hawkes Bay, Gisborne, Manawatu, Taupo and Wanganui.
Dr. Logan is a skilled ophthalmologist who has been 'fixing eyes' since 1983. He is a pioneer in laser eye surgery, being the first surgeon to perform LASIK surgery in New Zealand in 1995, more than a year before any other refractive surgeon and believing strongly in the success available from this procedure he was the first eye surgeon in New Zealand to have laser refractive surgery performed on himself in 1996. He is also the first NZ surgeon to perform ASA Advanced Epi-LASIK in 2005 and now the first to introduce VisuMax femtoLASIK in 2009.
Dr Logan is an early adopter of new proven technology, and stays at the forefront of this by attending seminars and training in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.
He was also the first surgeon in New Zealand to perform a range of other specialist eye procedures including: Epikeratophakia, Intacs corneal ring insertion, Collagen cross linking, Endothelial corneal transplantation (DSAEK), Boston Keratoprosthesis surgery and the use of Tisseel tissue adhesive in eye surgery.
Dr Logan's training and credentials are significant, including Fellowships from "the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons", and "the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) 1983".
